Using ideas from the children at school, Altrincham C.E. Aided School, I made this panel for the banner to represent school life for the birthday banner for St. John’s Church, Altrincham. I used felt, fabric and fabric pens to make the pictures as well as using an embroidered logo of the school from a sweatshirt….
Birthday banner, St.John’s Church, Altrincham
The banner that was made to clebrate the 140th birthday of St. John’s Church, Altrincham. The school banner is at the bottom left.
Linen handbag, cabas en lin
Handbag made from a linen and cotton mix fabric lined with cotton. The bag is decorated with linen flowers, sequins beads and topstitching in linen coloured and gold threads. The bag was adapted from a pattern in a French handicrafts magazine “Idees”, Mars Avril 2005.
Heart cushion
Cross stitch on linen, French design.
Embossed foil cards
A first attempt at using embossing foil and ribbons to make greetings cards. The embossed foil was mounted on handmade paper on a folded card.
Tree Christmas card
A 3 fold triangular card, the triangles were mounted with handmade paper from Paperchase then decorated with glitter spots and a star garland, also from Paperchase. The verse inside from Luke’s gospel, the New Testament was typed in the shape of a tree and glued in the card.
Silk and wool scarf
Hand felted wool and silk scarf, made on a felt making course at Quarry bank Mill, Styal, Cheshire.
Small patchwork wall hanging
Another creation from a day at Quarry Bank Mill. Simple patchwork and applique.
Hearts and Angels cushion
This cushion design was adapted from a tapestry chart by Wendy Hope-Faulkner of One Off Needlework in the Jane Greenoff magazine “Stitch That”. I love the angels. The embroidery was stitched into a purchased cushion cover.
